David Walter – Editor

As the Editor of Local Income Lab, David Walter brings nearly 20 years of copywriting and marketing experience to the table. But it’s through his own experiences as an offline marketer that David offers “in-the-trenches” strategies, ideas and advice he wishes he would have had when he was just starting out.

David was in a very comfortable rut about 4 years ago designing print marketing materials for a well-known greeting card company. But then the recession hit, and he found himself in the unemployment line. After 10 months of looking for a marketing job to no avail, and with the bills piling up, David got a job selling mattresses. He found he was actually pretty good at it, and enjoyed selling. This new-found talent gave him the impetus to set out on his own and start his own offline marketing business.

Like many local offline marketers, David struggled to know if all of his decisions where the right ones; if he had the smarts to make it work; if he could contact the right people and use the right strategies to be able to support his young family. He took a number of hard knocks, but ultimately found great success in selling his services.

In January 2011, David met Mike Cooch, who offered him a chance to bring his skills to Kutenda. Together they are excited to bring you the wealth of knowledge David only wishes he had when he started – he’d have a few less grey hairs!
